30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 9

Day 9: A picture of your friends

Sorry to keep posting wedding pictures, but they are all relevant!!! Our best friends stood up for us at our wedding. We do have other friends, of course. But these 10 are our tried and true. Even though we don't get to see them as much as we would like to, it's always a good time when we all get together!!

Wedding & Wedding Pictures

Hubbs' cousin is getting married tonight. It is the first wedding we will be attending since our own almost 3 months ago (has it really been 3 months already?!) I am interested in seeing a different wedding as a post-bride, as I was so immersed in my own for so long. Can't wait to see what a different budget, different venue, and different ideas get you!!

Also- we finally got our DVD with all our wedding photos, so now I can post here!! I will probably try to do a weeks' worth of recap posts, each day will be a different aspect of the wedding. Stay tuned!!

DIY Update

Fiance and I have finished a few DIY projects since I last updated, so that is what I dedicate this post to!!!

1. Water Bottle Labels. Designed myself :-)

2. Out of Town Bags for guests staying at the hotel. Made the welcome card, affixed it to bag handle, and filled bag with goodies (including aformentioned water bottles).

3. Programs. 90 of them. Designed, cut and assembled by myself and Fiance.

4. Fiance's RSVP software. Back story: Each time we tallied guests and their meal choices, we got different numbers. Fiance is a software developer, so he quickly wrote a program to count it for us! All we had to do was click the meal choice of the guest and it tallied the total number of guests and total number of each meal. He should market it ;-)

Update

9 days?!?! What?!?!

I called the final head count into our venue this morning, faxed the seating chart this afternoon. Our living room looks like a DIY tornado has hit- there is cardstock and half finished projects everywhere. I am not a neat freak by any means (just ask Fiance) but it is even starting to bother me!!! I have no idea how we are going to transport all of this stuff to the venue.

In other news, I got contacts yesterday. It took me 30 minutes to get them in this morning, and then I could feel the edges of the left one and both were blurry so I took them out. Grrr I was so frustrated with them! I'm wondering if one of them is the wrong prescription- it doesn't seem as if I am seeing clearly through both eyes.

My question: Does anyone have any tips on wearing contacts?!

Wedding Update

I went for my second dress fitting today. The dress fit perfectly this time around; the alterations were done perfectly!! The pictures are on my mother's camera, but I will try to get them to post some later on!!

They kept the dress to press it and such, I will be picking it up the Wednesday before the wedding.  We are going to get our marriage license on Tuesday, Fiance took a half day for us to make the hour drive to the town we are getting married in to apply for it!

As for projects, I have been lazy the past 2 days and didn't do anything wedding related. Well, I shouldn't say that really- I bought supplies for the out of town bags and the bathroom baskets, and we printed one more page for the programs. But that's it. No assembly or anything. However my mother is coming over tonight while Fiance is at his bachelor party, so I am hoping we get some assembly done!!

Stay Tuned!!

Current Wedding Project: Favor Bags Part 1

So we are having a candy buffet for part of our favor. I bought coffee bags on Nashville Wraps and decided to personalize them with a thank you monogram sticker I made on Photoshop. Right now I am working on making the stickers. I printed the monogram, ran them through the Xyron, and am now cutting them to size.

I will post the finished product, hopefully tonight!!

Annoyed...

I came home very annoyed today and it's been bothering me ever since.

-People who are not prepared for something, even though you talked about it the day before and confirmed with each other that you would both be ready.

-Every time I open the mailbox and only see 2 or 3 RSVP envelopes I get really heated. The RSVP date is MONDAY people...why is it I still have not heard from 95 of you?! And let me ask an even better question- why has almost none of my family responded yet? And I can't even assume they are all coming...because of personal issues going on right now, some of them may say no.

At this point I am trying to get excited about the wedding, but I am just getting annoyed with people instead. And stressed about the final set of invites that need to be sent out. It will all get done....but I may have some gray hair at the end of all of this!

Longest week...

One of my patients fell today, and even though it wasn't my fault and there was really nothing I could have done to prevent it, I still feel so so so bad. Man, I moved so fast to try and catch them that they landed on my foot- but there was nothing I could do. They are OK, even called the clinic to let us know. But still- holy...C..O..W...I hope that never ever ever happens to me again!! I also hope that they check their blood sugar before coming in for their next appointment...

Halfway through my internship. I'm not sure whether I should be happy or sad. I like it a lot at this facility, but it's always nice to be closer to the finish line.

Rsvp cards have been rolling in a few a day. The most we have gotten in one day so far is 9 and the least is 1. I hope that everyone keeps sending them in so I won't have to track people down at the end!!! *fingers crossed*

I heart the mailperson!

I love love love coming home to find RSVP's waiting for me!!! The invites got delivered Monday, and we have been getting 2-3 responses a day since. Only 2 no's so far, I know more will come as time goes on. I appreciate the ones that aren't waiting until the last minute to get their responses to us.

Bridesmaids dresses are in! And I think all of my 'maids will be able to go together to try them on! Luckily they are all going to be in state for my bridal shower, so two birds-one stone!

And my bridal shower is getting closer by the day and I am getting more and more excited!!! I'm also a little nervous to be the center of attention, but so psyched to see everyone's hard work put together.

Invites mailed out!!

Fiance and I went to the post office yesterday morning to hand cancel and send out our invites!! And no, I did not request to hand cancel, the post office required it. It only took about 5 minutes to do our 111 invitations, and we left them with the woman at the front desk. Not gonna lie, it was almost a bittersweet moment mailing them- it is SO nice to get them off of our living room floor, but I have been working on them for so long if was sad to see them go! But now I get to stalk the mailbox for RSVPs (along with stalking our registries), so it is pretty exciting!!

My internship is going pretty well. 4 weeks done, 8 more to go. I am learning as I go along, hopefully by the end of the next 8 weeks I will have a firm grasp on it all. I have to go meet the woman who I may be working with on my last internship to make sure I like the hospital and such before I commit to the internship. It will be a long day.

Good news- I might have a job for the month of May- keep your fingers crossed and send vibes my way!!

An elephant never forgets...but I'm not an elephant

I decided to wait until next weekend to send out the invites. As I had 30 left to put into envelopes today, I realized that I forgot to number the RSVP cards (in case the person doesn't write their name, I would know who sent it.) I think I got so excited to start sealing the envelopes, it just slipped my mind. I was mad at myself- but I marked the 30 we had left, and I will keep my fingers crossed that everyone else writes their name on the card or puts a return address on the envelope!

In other news, 3 weeks of my internship down, 9 weeks left to go. 25%! Next week I have to start doing evalutions, which scare the heck out of me...wish me luck!

Do It Yourself Project!!

Tonight I did a wedding project- bouquet charms for my bridesmaids!! I know a couple of them will see this post but it's ok, these aren't a big secret. I will bring them to the florist and have them attached to each girl's bouquet. I thought it was a sweet idea, and it wasn't too difficult to make.

The printer is tired..

..but we have all but one insert for the invites printed out!! We have to print out the directions cards tomorrow, then assemble everything. I have started to glue down the invite mat and the invitation onto the pocketfold; I did 10 invites and went thorough a whole roll of tape. Tomorrow's job is to go buy more tape. Everything looks great so far and I can't wait to finish them all.

I have so many little projects to do, I am so excited to see it all come together! I will try to post pictures as I complete things. I also have to start taking pictures of the food I am cooking. It hasn't been anything exciting lately, I don't think anyone needs the recipe to make pasta and sauce :-P

Exciting day!!

Today I had my hair and makeup trial for the wedding. If came out fantastic!!! I am so happy with both styles and the girls that did completed my look were so friendly and nice. I did not want to take my hair down or my makeup off, but I finally did and now I'm back to my plain old self. Cannot wait until I'm all done up again!!

When I got home I found that my stamps and stamp pads had come in the mail, so I started to stamp the napkins. The color I bought isn't working too well, so I will have to play around with it tomorrow and try to make it work. The glue also came so I can make the bouquet charms.

After dinner, Ben finished printing the invite inserts so I could complete my mock up invite. It looks great!!! A few minor changes, and a few extra cuts I will have to make on the paper cutter, but it's exactly what I wanted!

Hopefully tomorrow is as successful as today was =) Leave comments, people, I think I'm talking to myself in this blog!!

Up to my elbows in wedding supplies...

This week has been a long week of running around and spending money on the wedding. I got napkins and stamping materials to stamp them, stuff for bouquet charms, and ordered our cake topper. I emailed the ladies and the gentlemen updates on the wedding info, Ben called and got limo quotes and set up rehearsal dinner, and I scheduled my hair and makeup trial for Wednesday!! The rest of our invitation pieces came yesterday and tonight we fixed the colors and adjusted the printer so that I can print all the pieces and start assembly. I started a mock up invite and it looks great so far!!

I am now addicted a little bit to Etsy. Etsy is like Ebay for handmade goods. Jewelry, boxes, just about anything that can be made by hand is listed on here. I got our cake topper and I am looking at jewelry on there too. Very reasonable prices and for the most part good quality from what I have heard. I am thinking about putting some of the wedding products up on there when the wedding is over. Even if I don't get any purchases, at least I tried. And if I do, that's so extra money coming in. We will see.

I apologize that this blog has been mostly wedding stuff thus far. It's really all I have been doing because I want to get as much done as possible. I have not been cooking, only soup and Healthy Choice meals which I don't think you guys need pictures of. I promise I will try to add some variety to my posts!

Vent- wedding invitations!

I just had to vent for a moment. Today I printed out the mock up of one of the projects I had made in PhotoShop for the wedding. It printed horribly!! It was very streaky and the colors were distorted.  It turns out that the brush I used was meant to be small and I resized it to 3 times its size making it blurry and distorted. Holy cow did I panic!! Am I really going to have to remake ALL the inserts for the invitations?!

Short answer: no. Thank the heavens above. Fiance figured out how to manipulate the image in a different program so now I have to go through each document and change out the image. It's really annoying, but less annoying than starting from scratch.

Can't wait to put them all together!

Vent over.
