This week's Top Two Tuesday Topic: Top 2 Dates!

1. Dinner and a movie

Fiance and I used to do this a lot when we were dating. You know, before we lived together and had to feed and clothe ourselves and pay a mortgage. We don't do it much anymore, and if we do it's usually one or the other. You can't beat this date though, it's a classic!

2. Dinner and a show in NYC

Ok ok so I know this is very similar to my first choice. BUT- this is the date where FI and I got engaged!! How can I not pick it as a top date?! We had a fancy, expensive hotel room that was about the size of my walk in closet (welcome to NY!), he took me to dinner at a restaurant in Little Italy, then to Radio City to see the Christmas Spectacular. We walked to Rockefeller Center, where he popped the question under the tree. Best...Date...Ever!

To my readers, this may be my last blog post until next week because...we are getting married this weekend!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!

All this planning will be over and Fiance will be Hubbs after this weekend!!

I love love love this week's Favorite Fridays Topic: Favorite SATC Character!

Mine would have to be Stanford Blatch!

First off he is adorable!!!

He is hilarious and things never seem to go his way- who hasn't felt like Stanford at some point in time!?

All he wants is a cute boy to love!

Carrie: I just love Sleeping Beauty! The music, the sets, the costumes, it's so romantic!

Stanford: You only like it because she sleeps for 100 years and doesn't age.

After Carrie falls on the runway and the next model walks over her:

Stanford: Omigod!! She's fashion roadkill!

Stanford: (on going to see The Vagina Monologues) "Just because I don't eat at the restaurant, doesn't mean I can't hear the special"

DIY Update

Fiance and I have finished a few DIY projects since I last updated, so that is what I dedicate this post to!!!

1. Water Bottle Labels. Designed myself :-)

2. Out of Town Bags for guests staying at the hotel. Made the welcome card, affixed it to bag handle, and filled bag with goodies (including aformentioned water bottles).

3. Programs. 90 of them. Designed, cut and assembled by myself and Fiance.

4. Fiance's RSVP software. Back story: Each time we tallied guests and their meal choices, we got different numbers. Fiance is a software developer, so he quickly wrote a program to count it for us! All we had to do was click the meal choice of the guest and it tallied the total number of guests and total number of each meal. He should market it ;-)

Update

9 days?!?! What?!?!

I called the final head count into our venue this morning, faxed the seating chart this afternoon. Our living room looks like a DIY tornado has hit- there is cardstock and half finished projects everywhere. I am not a neat freak by any means (just ask Fiance) but it is even starting to bother me!!! I have no idea how we are going to transport all of this stuff to the venue.

In other news, I got contacts yesterday. It took me 30 minutes to get them in this morning, and then I could feel the edges of the left one and both were blurry so I took them out. Grrr I was so frustrated with them! I'm wondering if one of them is the wrong prescription- it doesn't seem as if I am seeing clearly through both eyes.

My question: Does anyone have any tips on wearing contacts?!

I skipped the napkins for right now. Currently assembling the pages, then I have to add the backing and the ribbon. I will update soon!

Top 2 Tuesday- Houses!!!

So I have to add a preface to this week's top 2 Tuesday- Dream Houses! Fiance and I build a house last year. Well from the fall of 2008 to the spring of 2009. We just celebrated one year of being here and we love it!! Fiance gets mad when I look at other houses because then he feels that I don't like the house we are in, which isn't true. Living here has made me realize what things I do want, and what things I don't!!

With that said...

My dream houses are not something you would find in Hollywood! These are houses we could find in the area that I would someday like to graduate to once we have kids and need more space.

Wedding Project Complete: Menus

As I mentioned in my last post, the menus are done!! All 150 of them- rhinestoned, matted, and ready to go!

Wedding Update

I went for my second dress fitting today. The dress fit perfectly this time around; the alterations were done perfectly!! The pictures are on my mother's camera, but I will try to get them to post some later on!!

They kept the dress to press it and such, I will be picking it up the Wednesday before the wedding.  We are going to get our marriage license on Tuesday, Fiance took a half day for us to make the hour drive to the town we are getting married in to apply for it!

As for projects, I have been lazy the past 2 days and didn't do anything wedding related. Well, I shouldn't say that really- I bought supplies for the out of town bags and the bathroom baskets, and we printed one more page for the programs. But that's it. No assembly or anything. However my mother is coming over tonight while Fiance is at his bachelor party, so I am hoping we get some assembly done!!

Current Wedding Project: Menus!

150 menus to assemble. I already affixed the gemstone onto each, now I have to glue each menu to the metallic backing. This may take a while...

I won't lie, these were kind of obnoxious to make. From cutting each sticker to having to stick each one on each bag, it got to be tedious. But they are cute and will serve the purpose of allowing guests to get their candy home!

This one is tough for me because I am a broke college student, so I don't splurge on much. Does paying the gas bill count? lol

1. Starbucks

I used to be really bad with my Starbucks habit when I drove past one on my way to school every morning. But now that I don't drive that route anymore, I barely freqent a Starbucks. I cannot resist a white chocolate mocha (iced, light on the ice) when I walk by one, though!

2. Panera Bread

 

My craving for a Bacon Turkey Bravo or an Asiago Roast Beef from Panera is something I satisfy too often! It all started when I worked in a plaza that had a Panera- everyday on my lunch break I would go for food. And there always seems to be one on my route, no matter where I am going!!

So is it bad that both my splurges are about food?! LOL

Current Wedding Project: Favor Bags Part 1

So we are having a candy buffet for part of our favor. I bought coffee bags on Nashville Wraps and decided to personalize them with a thank you monogram sticker I made on Photoshop. Right now I am working on making the stickers. I printed the monogram, ran them through the Xyron, and am now cutting them to size.

I will post the finished product, hopefully tonight!!
